Just bought a HP Media Center Computer and have it set up in my office in one end of the house and my media room is at the other end of the house. I have a wireless router set up for my laptop that I use around the house and I have heard that you can get an extender to send video and info from my computer to my media room in the other end of the house. My question is would it be better for me to run a cable between my computer and the media room or is an extender a better way to go? Are some better than others?

An extender won't be in sync for video/audio, but you can use it to do something different (e.g. watch TV in one room, listen to music in the other).  I would always recommend hard-wiring it if possible - it will be much more reliable than wireless.
Just my $0.02.

right now I don't have my cablevision coming into my computer but it goes to my tv setup in another part of the house. Will an extender send a tv signal to my computer as well as sending my video files and pictures that I have on my computer to my tv setup? And can you tell me the best places on the internet to get tv programs or movies for free? Thanks.

No.  An extender doesn't have any inputs (no TV tuner)

No.  All I can recommend it getting legal content.

Just my $0.02.

I don't believe I asked where I could get illegal tv or movies. Are there not any sites on the internet that allow you to watch tv programs or movies that I could send through an extender to my tv that are free?
